The grade 7/ 8 class have been taking part in the National Truth and Reconciliation Online Conference put on this week by the National Centre of Truth and Reconciliation. Yesterday they heard Autumn Peltier, a youth water-rights advocate, speak on the importance of protecting our water and getting clean water to everyone in Canada. This morning they enjoyed a performance by the Ivan Flett Memorial Dancers and in this picture they are listening to Steve Wood, a survivor of the residential schools and a drummer from the Saddle Lake Cree First Nation. The students will continue to participate in this online event that provides historical workshops and exclusive video content, all supported by artistic and cultural performances by First Nations, Métis, and Inuit artists.
